A White Christmas
From my stash of vintage cookbooks I've learned that Christmas was all about
presentation. More than any other occasion, these cooks went to great
length to master "whimsy." Everything needed to meet the unyielding
standards for cute & clever. It's true that it takes vision to
see a bag of almonds and think, "daisies," or to sculpture trees out of
cereal, but I suspect their creativity was driven by the "Ohhhhs" and
"Ahhhs" they got rather than the pure joy that comes from outlining a cheese
ball with green pepper.

The bells on this cake are made out of chocolate! |
I have no idea what this is. |
In the book they actually show you how to make the sled out of
cardboard and how shape the flowers out of almonds.

Christmas Confections
I am at a loss as to what you do with this. It's a decoration
yet you eat it? |
Stained Glass Cookies
These are actually really cool but look complicated to make. |
Pary Cheese Ball
All I can say is "WOW." |
